Orengo's Journey Before Becoming A Renowned Lawyer And An Influential Leader.

These is all that you should know about the renowned lawyer James Orengo who is currently a governor in Siaya County. His full name is James Aggrey Bob Orengo who was born in 1951 at a place called Ugenya in the County of Siaya. He is commonly known as Orengo. He went to school at Ambira primary school in 1958 and finished in 1964.

Orengo joined Alliance High School, a national school in Kiambu County in 1965 for his A levels and sat for his A levels examination in which qualified him to join University. He was called to join the University of Nairobi to pursue bachelors of law degree. Orengo was a very displined, vibrant and vocal student. His courage made him become SONU's president in 1972 where he served for a period of one term.

Orengo led students in several riots and demonstration fighting for their rights in campus. He expanded the riots to a national level fighting for the rights of Kenyans under President Moi's regime. However, the union was still young and not yet recognized as a central union for student’s interests.

Through his efforts, he pushed for building of a strong union for students. As a result Sonu was born which has produced very many strong leaders in our country. Sonu has been at the forefront in the fight against bad leadership in the country. The formation of this strong body can be attributed to his efforts. By the time he was leaving the university, Sonu was a very firm body which impacted positively to our national politics.

After his graduation from the University of Nairobi in 1975 with Bachelor of Laws, he enrolled at the Kenya School of Law, and excellently passed his bar examination. Later, he was admitted to the Kenya legal Council. He has been a very influential lawyer and leader in our dear country.
