Accidents at a funeral are not a common occurrence in Kenya but this is what has befallen a teacher in Marani Sub County in the vast county of Kisii.

The teacher, identified as Laban Nyambane who is an educator at a nearby school lost his life under unclear circumstances when he fell inside a grave that was being dug at his home village.
It's alleged that the secondary school teacher had gone to inspect the progress of the grave that was being dug when he slipped and fell into it head first.
The grave was being dug for one Callen Moige who was to be buried the following day at Sieka-Magonga Village in Kitutu Chache South Constituency.

He is said to have been rushed to a nearby health facility but died a few minutes later upon being admitted with the serious injuries.
The villagers have condemned the unfortunate and abnormal incident saying that it's very sad that they'll have to hold two funerals in a short span of time.
