As Universities set to reopen as early as 3rd January, Comrades are in a state of confusion due to delays of Higher Education Loan Board (HELB) for not paying their accounts even after releasing the respective batch numbers.
Following the delays many Colleges and Universities which were reopening as from 3rd January, 2023 reported a low turn out of students given that majority of students depend on the fund to pay their school fees as well as paying their rents.
Following the delays, HELB has send a message of hope to Comrades on the dates when they should be expecting something on their accounts as well as start paying Tuition fees to institutions.
"Hello. Disbursement of the funds will be done before the opening dates provided by the institution for the sem 2." HELB wrote on the official Twitter account.
HELB statement on payment of accounts is a relief to comrades who are confused after President William Ruto promised to abolish HELB as soon as possible.
