Monthly Salary of Principals and Headteachers

Today people across the world are celebrating their teachers, this is because today is a special date that has been set out yearly for teachers following their role in tranforming lives of younger citizens.

In Kenya, head teachers head primary schools and principals head secondary schools. It is the teachers service commission that hires them and even pay them. Below are salaries of head teachers and principals per month:

Primary school head teachers of boarding and day schools earn between 77,840 and 93,408, head teachers in schools with low students earn between 62,271 and 77,840. Deputy head teachers earn between 52,308 to 65,385, senior primary teachers earn between Kenyan shillings 34,955 and 43,694.

Secondary school principals salary

Chief principals earn a minimum of 165,089 and maximum of 200,928, senior principals earn between Ksh 143,748 and Ksh 174,270. Principal GAT I earn between Ksh 129,527 to Ksh 155,290 while principals GAT II earn Ksh 80,190 to Ksh 97,290.
