New 2021 Kenyan Grading System For Primary and Secondary Schools Also For KCPE and KCSE Exams

In Kenya the grading system varies according to overall performance of candidates in the national exam both the Kenya Certificate Of Secondary Education (KCSE) and the Kenya Certificate Of Primary Education (KCPE).

All grade thresholds change per year according to the intensity of the exam,according to the 2020 KCSE and KCPE results, below is how the Kenyan academic grading system will look like for the primary and secondary schools in this new 2021 academic year.

For the KCPE exams scheduled to start on 7th March to 10th March 2022 and the KCSE exams scheduled to start on 11th March to 1st April 2022, the grading system will be based on a numeric 12-point scale from 1-12 and an expanded letter grade ranging from A to E (A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C, C-, D+, D, D-, E) as illustrated in the table below ;
