Two Fed Poly Bauchi senior lecurers have been officially sacked by The Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic for alleged sexual harassment. The dismissal of the two, Mr Adebusoye Sunday and Mr Malam Abubakar Baba was approved on Sunday 24 October during the council's 98th meeting.
The institution rector, Mr Sunusi Gumau, revealed they investigated the matter thoroughly before arriving to that decision. Mr Gumau clarified that Mr Abubakar Baba and Mr Sunday were lecturers in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Department of General Studies respectively.
The Rector disclosed that both the lecturers were dismissed with immediate effect after a female student raised a complain of defilement. He explained that legitimate evidence had been established against Mr Sunday for the allegations.
The Rector also revealed that the some 30 students were also expelled by the Student's Academic Board for committing various offences including examination irregularities and forgery of certificates.
