Kibabii University is a public university located along Bungoma-Chwele highway in kanduyi subcounty in Bungoma County. The university was established as a constituent college of Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology in 2010. In 2015, it was awarded a charter by president Uhuru Kenyatta to become full fledged university. President Uhuru Kenyatta is the chancellor of the university.
Kibabii University is set to be the first university to conduct online voting for it's students leaders. As a result university Dean of Students Dr Alice Mutai wishes to inform all students that there will be online voting sensitization of students leaders and students organization of Kibabii University members on Wednesday July 21, 2021 from 4:30pm to 6:00pm. This will be for members and aspirants who are in their first and second year of study.
Another session will be held on Thursday July 22, 2021 for aspirants and members who are in their third and fourth year of study at 4:30pm to 6:00pm. Online voting is a major milestone and it will be the first of its kind in Kenya. Kibabii University is adopting online voting as a way of preventing overcrowding and possible spread of Covid-19 during the exercise.
