"I was in Class 7 when I started taking care of them through the business of mali mali because my mom is jobless." Distressed Felix Joel told the reporters.

The 28 years old man from Kisumu has narrated how he has been taking care of his siblings since his tender age, but the younger brother's University fees has become a major challenge to raise.

According to Tuko News reports, Felix Joel opted to go to the streets of Kisumu while holding a placard detailing that he is ready to sell his kidney to raise funds that will enable his younger brother (Morgan) to join Kenyatta University where he is expected on 4th October.

During the interview with Tuko reporters, Joel stated that he quit his university studies at Masinde Muliro University while in first year because he could not afford to pay for his tuition fees nor cater for anything.

The young man explained that their dad passed away, which became the start of their major problems.

"I have bigger problems that I can't even start saying now. My dad was polygamous so as we speak we don’t even live at home, but that's another story altogether." Joel stated.

This is not the first case of Kenyans taking to the streets requesting for help to clear various tuition fees, with several young students seeking for such help because of the financial strains their families have been facing because of the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic.
