Following the notice that was posted by the Egerton university management on 15th October, asking all students to clear their school fees on time before Friday 22nd October night when those who would have not done so will be automatically be asked to defer their studies for one academic year. Today being the deadline, many students have been seen flooding various banks in order to pay their school fees as stated by the management.
Other Students have remained in a nightmare not knowing what to do next since they are unable to raise their school fees on time and that their studies are going to be interrupted.
According to the notice given by the university, students who would have not cleared school fees are to vacate the premises with immediate effect and that anyone found at the university illegally will be dealt with accordingly by security. The university has however considered those who have not received their HELB loan Saying that "There have been a delay in the disbursement of HELB funds for a number of our students. These students therefore will be registered with the Student's Finance department as they await for their money to be deposited. Note that, the university will however register these students if the amount indicated in the list against their respective names is the ONLY amount outstanding and therefore hindering the student from registering."
