The Goverment has announced that they will be no boarding schoold from Grade 1 to Grade 9 as from January 2023.This announcement was made by the new PS for Basic Education PS Belio Kipsang.
Reports indicates that this move by the the Government means that the pupils transiting to junior Secondary schools will join day schools in their home areas.
Belio Kipsang made the announcement during the Kenya Heads Schools Meeting Association in Mombasa when he invited President William Ruto to attend the meeting.
In a statement, the PS revealed that Kenya was having the largest number of students in boarding schools which stands at 28 percent. This means that pupils from Grade 1 to Grade 9 will have to learn in the days schools while the junior Secondary school students will be boarding.
