Exam Evaluation Headache Over Cheating Teachers

Attempts by teachers to aid in cheating of national examinations raises questions over integrity. Several teachers were caught with some illegal activities trying to aid in cheating. Some had opened exams before time and distributing them all over. At least all papers in the last week of exams were out some minutes to the exam. In Migori, kakamega school, Kisii, Nyamira, Migori and Garissa had teachers arrested and arraigned in court.

This raised questions on assessment in the new CBC system. This is where a teacher is fully awarded responsibilities of awarding learners. The teacher will be responsible in handling exams in all levels and promoting of learners in the country.

Experts are now questioning the integrity of teachers in Kenyan schools. Given chance 80% will participate in cheating exercises. Sometimes it gives it a hard task to trust somebody to control somebody's life.

The new system is rapidly coming into use. All grade four students are in the new system. By the end of the academic year they will be on class five. Soon they will be joining lower secondary.

Meanwhile the concluded KCSE exam marking will be done by next week. It's 13 days to the release of results. We wish Everybody success. Thanks
