More than 300 students from Kamaget Secondary School in Bomet County felt sick after eating contaminated food.
The students are now receiving medical attention at Longisa sub-county hospital ,Tenwek hospital, Sigor sub-county hospital and Siongiroi health center. With respect to Dr. Joseph Sitonik who is Bomet County Executive officer who is responsible of Medical Services and Public Health confirmed the situation.
70 other students who were being medicated at the Siongiroi health center have been released and are receiving outpatient care.
The figure of cases in the day mixed together with the boarding school arouse to 300 earlier as a number of pupils were treated and discharged at the health center.
The larger section of the affected pupils complained of stomach pains and the medical facilities of where they were receiving medical attention found that they had a high fever.
While the University Comrades celebrated the handing over of a newly built school hall to the college by a contractor on Thursday, it is reported that the students consumed contaminated food.
Parents complained at the time students were brought using motorbikes, school buses and public utility vehicles, and found that there were no enough drugs available at the government hospitals.
