Many people always try to fight in becoming politicians because they are paid well compared to the civil servants though they are all paid by the government. Also their salaries are not controlled much as they are the ones who pass the laws in parliament. The MP's therefore are paid well compared to the work their work.

Most times teachers have been getting increments on salaries and allowances through a bargaining power that even include strikes in order to be considered. For the MP's it's different as they are paid extra allowance on sittings they make.

As teachers are waiting for their next CBA that was presented by TSC to be passed by SRC, the members of parliament are now happy and can smile all the way to the bank as they will get salary increase of up Ksh. 100,000 starting this month. This has increased as the number of their sittings will also increase despite the burden to be put to the citizens on payment of taxes.

This will give them a smile on their faces as the teachers continue to suffer without even promotions upon acquiring degrees as a way of promoting them. The government should therefore consider increasing salaries and allowances for all.
