A huge fire is said to have broken up at the University of Nairobi this night. Reports show that the fire is consuming the University's Kitchen 1 as huge smoke is seen coming out of the said Kitchen. Nairobi fire extinguishers have however arrived there to control the fire from spreading. Source of the fire has however not yet been disclosed as we follow up to get more updates.
This fire has just emerged on the onset of the University's strike set to commence tomorrow Monday 20th of September, 2021.
From the letter released by the University's Students Coucil Secretary Kikwai Nathan Kiplangat, all first year parents and students who are to report to the University tomorrow Monday are advised NOT to report to the University since all comrades will he demonstrating over the hiking of first year fees.
According to the new students letter, parent's are expected to pay Ksh. 59,000 amount which has been doubled from the previous years where students used to pay Ksh. 28,500.
