According to the area Assistant Chief, Richard Bett, the deputy teacher and his class Seven student were caught at a lodging in town at around 2pm.
“Members of the public called me after they saw the girl in the lodging rented by the teacher,” said the chief.
It is then that the area chief alerted the police who forced their way inside the room and arrested the two.
The two were first taken to Nandi Hills sub-county hospital for medical assessment and later transferred to Police Station to record statements.
The eyewitnesses told the police that the girl who comes from the same village with the suspect, communicates with him after responding to the online messages.
On that particular afternoon of the incident, the victim went to the suspect's booked room in town where she found him watching movies from his phone.
The girl was made to wait for several hours while the teacher drank alcohol, tried to lure her with alcohol but she refused.
When the victim decided to leave, the man forcefully threw her on the bed and sexually abused her. During the ordeal, he held a knife to the girl's throat after she feigned an asthma attack.
Nandi Hills Sub-County Police Commander Francis Omulo confirmed the arrest, adding that the suspect had locked the girl in one of the lodgings for more than five hours.
"It was reported by one Assistant Chief of Kelbui sub-location that there was a school-going child who entered one lodging within Nandi Hills town.
"Police officers from this end rushed and found the two in room two where it was established that the man aged 41 years was a primary deputy headteacher in a neighbouring school and a primary school pupil aged 14 years," said the officer.
