Schools Reopening Boosted As Education CS Prof George Magoha Assures Teachers And Students This

Covid-19 has continued to ravage the country causing havoc in all sectors of economy. The virus has devastated families and communities. Many people have lost their live and others have lost their sources of livelihood as result of covid-19 containment measure.

Education sector is once again hit hard by the virus following president Uhuru Kenyatta directive to suspend in-person learning in all learning Institutions including universities, tertiary Institutions and colleges. The move have put dreams of many learners in jeopardy turning their aspirations upside down.

However, it's now good news to millions of learners and teachers as education cabinet secretary has maintained that schools will reopen as scheduled. Speaking while supervising distribution of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examinations, Prof George Magoha said government has not changed academic calendar.

"The government hasn't changed the academic calendar, those who sat for KCPE exams this year will still join in July," said Magoha.

This is a sigh of relief to atleast 15 million learners whom their hopes of going back to school next month were between the rocks as result of Covid-19 mitigation measures introduced by the head of state.
