On 18th Thursday, students reopened school after a long half-term break due to August 9 general elections. The minister for education prof George Magoha had postponed reopening from August 10 due to delayed presidential results.
Today afternoon we have just received news that a teacher has been arrested for assaulting a pupil who failed to complete homework. According to the source, Ndungu Nyoro who posted it on his Facebook page, the teacher is from Ngurubani primary school in Mwea, Kirinyaga county.

The source has not revealed the identity of the pupil but he continues to say that the teacher will remain in police custody and he will be arraigned in court on Monday.
The boy is currently admitted at Mwea level five hospital were he is receiving treatment. This comes when another teacher from Rongo in Migori county was dismissed from service after he assaulted a pupil for failing to score 400 marks.
