Slain Kenya Broadcasting Corporation staffer Betty Barasa will be happy wherever she is because her daughter just did her proud. Illian Barasa was among the top performers in KCPE at Uthiru Genesis Day and Boarding Primary School.
While speaking with a KBC reporter, Illian said the good news reached her a day after her mother was buried. She is among the pupils who scored between 350 marks to 399.
“I was in the sitting room watching some show on TV when my dad came in. He asked for my index number but I told him that I'll do it by myself,” the joyful Illian said as quoted from the video uploaded.
Her teachers spoke highly of her describing Illian as a humble, hardworking and teachable pupil. Her brother also congratulated her and asked her to continue with the exemplary performance even secondary school.
Although, the family is going through tough times, their daughter's KCPE perfomance will at least brighten their dull faces.
