When Embakasi East Member of Parliament Hon Babu Owino started online classes in May 2020, nobody knew how important it was to the KCSE candidates who had been sent home due to the uncertainty brought by Covid-19 pandemic.
Schools across the country had been closed for two months at the time the Mp was starting his Programme and there was uncertainty on the exact date schools will resume.
The Mp who was recognized by United Nations and Voice of America for his online classes programme, demonstrated his prowess in Mathematics and Chemistry. Following his classes was enjoyable as the Hon Member made topics like Calcus, Differentiation look as easy as a,b,c.
The fruits of his labour have been shown a year later after the release of KCSE results.
Top student in the country Robinson Wanjala revealed that the online classes by Hon Babu came in handy when he was at home. Wanjala said that Hon Babu helped him understand some concepts which were hard for him before.
In an online interview by Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang'o through his YouTube channel "Jalang'o TV" on Bonga na Jalas segment, other top scorers acknowledged the help the program had for them.
Ashley Nyambura who score A (plain) of 82 points from Siakago Girls, Sidney Mokua scored A (plain) from Maranda High and Wesonga Allan scored A (plain) from Aguru Sari High school acknowledged to have gained from Babu's Classes.
Ashley went further to state that the CDF bursary kitty by the Hon Member helped her stay in school because she was a beneficiary.
