47 Governors Face Bad Spending Habits Just 6 Months Into Their Leadership

Six months into their leadership in the counties, Kenya's forty seven governors are facing some brutal bad spending habits from their territories after failing to honor the 30% share of development.

According to the daily nation newspaper for Monday, the governors are yet to pump the required amount of money from their Treasury docket to development projects like building of schools, hospitals and roads.

It is said to have been a mirage as the governors have prioritized some other issues which are not supposed to be prioritized according to their spending.

"The quest for better roads, schools and hospital remains a mirage as development is not a priority for the counties, according to spending reports that exposed little allocation for growth in the last six months and on this all the 47 Governors have violated the law and are guilty as charged," the newspaper reported.

This comes even as Junior secondary school children reported to schools but are suffering due to lack of classes in most parts of the country.
