Teachers Service Commission boss Nancy Macharia has send Kenyan teachers into jubilations after she announced the promotion of teachers in the country started next week. She has also announced the interviewing process.
The interviews are for positions of senior teachers, chief principals, deputy principals, and headteachers. This comes after the career progression guidelines were implemented in 2018.
It is reported that the interview 1, 376 teachers for new positions in arid and semi-arid areas as part of the promise made by the Teachers Service Commission, TSC in 2021/2025 collective bargaining agreement.
In addition to this, Nancy Macharia has announced that TSC will also interview 1, 995 interns, 1, 038 for primary and 957 for secondary schools. The interview will to an increment of interns to a total of 6, 000.
TCS has revealed that primary school interns will be paid a stipend of Ksh 15, 000 while secondary school interns will be paid Ksh 20, 000
In a statement by the Commission, the interviews will run until November 12, 2021.
“This is on affirmative action to grow teachers progressively,” read the notice in part.
