How primary school teachers will benefit from CBC.

The coming of the competency based curriculum will mean massive opportunities for teachers especially those in primary School level.In two years time the curriculum will split to junior secondary School which will comprises of grades 7,8 and 9.In 2923 the pioneers of the competency based curriculum will sit for national exams at grade 6 before joining junior secondary.

According to the Kenya institute of curriculum development, the curriculum designs from grade one to ten are ready.The president had earlier stated that the government had set aside ksh 8 billion for construction of classes which are needed to accommodate the more than one million students who will be joining the junior secondary.

Primary school teachers will benefit massively from this.TSC had indicated that teachers with some qualifications will be able to teach in junior secondary school which can mean additional pay rise to them.P1 teachers with diploma, higher diploma and those with undergraduate degrees will be promoted to teach at the junior secondary schools.

According to the commission a minimum of 60,000 teachers will be trained as from March next year.
