[VIDEO] Rang'ala Boys Student 'Arrested' by Villagers With Knife While Coming From School

More than 1000 students were sent home indefinitely from Rang'ala Boys High School following a protest. The students were demanding to go home for the December holidays.

In a video shared on Twitter by Cyprian Nyakundi, a boy from the institution is seen apprehended by villagers who accused him of having a knife in his possession. The boy was unable to explain the source as the villagers demanded to know what he wanted to use it for.

The boy alongside others was sent home after the Board of Management saw it better to avert any destruction in the institution. Speaking to local dailies, BoM chairman Stephen Onyango said it was unfortunate that the students became unruly.

“The Principal moved with speed to try and cool them and even called police for assistance. They could not come down. We consulted and agreed the principal should inform them that they would go home in the morning as demanded,” Onyango said.
