Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education Teachers officials endorsed Raila Amolo Odinga as the next president of the republic ahead of the August elections. The endorsement was done in Kiambu county where more than 30 teachers from the KNUT and KUPPET openly mate with Martha Karua and pledged their support to the Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate.
However, KUPPET vice chairman Robert tanui has refuted the endorsement terming it as personal. He explained that the individuals who attended the endorsement of Odinga termed the event as personal and not from the KUPPET Union. Tonui added that the Union will remain independent no matter what comes on its way.
"KUPPET has not endorsed any presidential Aspirant, we are committed to remaining independent as a Union, whoever links endorsement to our union, we are terming them as personal decisions"
Robert urged teachers to learn from the mistake, Willson sossion Did in the 2017 elections after endorsing Raila Odinga for president, only after Uhuru's regime ascend to power and started pinching Knut officials one by one and making their government relationship with officials hard.
