Senator Osotsi Makes an Impromptu Visit to Chavavo primary following Dilapidated State Of Classrooms

Vihiga senator Hon Godfrey Osotsi has this morning made an impromptu tour to Chavavo primary school in Mungoma ward, Vihiga sub-county.

The school has had challenges of inadequate facilities leading to it's closure sometimes back. It took the intervention of Hon Osotsi who was a nominated MP than to reinstate the school back to functioning.

Osotsi made his visit today as a follow-up to his pre-election campaign promise that he will stand with the pupils of Chavavo and Mungoma at large to ensure that students remain in school.

Speaking during the visit, the school headteacher decried the poor state of classrooms in the institution pointing out that not only are the students affected but also the teachers since they from time to time develop cold due to dust from the classrooms. He also added that he has nowhere to even store the certificates of the former students since he has no office designated for him.

The area chief Esther Vidija applauded the senator for honoring his promise to the people of Mungoma and coming back after being elected as senator.

During his address to pupils, parents and residents of Chavavo, firebrand Vihiga senator urged the pupils to work hard and ensure that they salvage their parents from the circle of poverty.

He added that even though his office has no development kitty, he will continue from his little ways and in a personal capacity continue to ensure our learners are housed in classrooms that are in good condition.

"I do not have a development kitty as a senator, my work is oversight and legislation. However, I will not sit back and watch our school being closed down and I am your leader." Godfrey Osotsi, senator Vihiga county

Osotsi further urged the county government to ensure that they put up at least an ECDE classroom in every school within the county.
