Teachers across the country have been thrown into mourning one of their own.The pandemic that has been wrecking havock in the Nyanza Counties together with the Western and some neighbouring Rift Valley Counties has brought a lot of panic in the Counties and the Country at large.
The teachers in Siaya county have just been thrown into mourning Mr Gilbert Ndolo who has passed on.Mr Ndolo was a vibrant member of Knut who constantly advocated for improvement of the teachers' welfare within Bondo.Unfortunately,Mr Ndolo has succumbed to Covid-19 after falling ill some days ago.Mr Ndolo passed on today in Bondo Hospital having been in oxygen for a few days.The vibrant Knut leader has left a void in Knut leadership in Bondo Branch.
His death has come exactly at a time when Siaya county is leading in the number of new Covid-19 infections.Yesterday,over 140 people tested positive in Siaya county as Kisumu followed closely before Nairobi County.This has forced the government to impose a temporary lockdown to boost in containing the spread of the virus.
At the moment,some people are still skeptical in following the containment measures as issued by the ministry of health.The Lake region is now a hot zone owing to the fact that it neighbours Uganda.A lot now needs to be done by the people themselves.
