Some Teachers To Suffer A Blow As TSC To Do The Following

After the launch of Biometric Enrollment and Validation of teachers on May 17, 2021, the days of 'ghost' teachers who reap where they never sowed, will be over.

The biometric registration system is intended to unearth out rogue teachers who are earning salaries illegally in the expense of the economy.

The registration will give real-time data of all teachers employed by TSC. This means that details of all teachers teaching in public schools including primary, secondary, training colleges, the Centre for Mathematics, Science and Technology in Africa and the Kenya Institute of Special Education will be captured.

Also to be registered are all zonal officers such as teachers in Special programs and Curriculum Support Officers and Interns under contract.

According to the TSC Director of Administration, teachers will be registered from their respective schools.

For the case of those teachers who have been suspended, interdicted or on leave, will have to register from their last duty schools.

Teachers are required to physically provide their documents such as TSC registration number, national identification card, letters of first and last appointment and all academic and professional certificates.

The system will capture the teacher's information electronically using biometric kits whereby facial and fingerprints will be recognised.

The launch kicked off yesterday in 143 public schools from seven piloting counties. The counties include Garissa, Bungoma, Nyeri, Uasin Gishu, Homa Bay, Kitui and Kilifi.

For the ghost teachers, will have to get prepared to face the wrath of TSC. Share your opinion.
