The Teachers Service Commision announced around 9,000 vacancies in the ongoing recruitment of teachers. About 350,000 teachers are said to have been shortlisted for the few available positions around the country.
This week, teachers have been traversing the country for interviews in the respective places they were invited for the interviews. Many have had to go across the entire length of the country for the interviews which are scheduled to run until the end of this month.
In Trans Nzoia County today, hundreds of graduate teachers showed up for the interviews. There were only four vacancies in the institution with subject combination of History and Christian Religious Education.
St. Monica High School in Trans Nzoia received a high number of interviewees for the positions available at the institution. Kenyans had this to say about the ongoing interviews in the school:
Josephine Sikuku: I once made it in such a crowd! When time is right, God will make it happen.
Mercy Nambuye: I made it through the crowd. When your time comes even Satan himself will sit down and take notes.
Shear Achieng: God have mercy.
Donald Kosgei: I made it through such a crowd. Just have faith.
