The Kenya National Examination Council, KNEC, is an educational body charged with regulation and supervision of national examinations in the country. The Council is responsible for setting national examinations, administration, marking and releasing the final results to students.
The KNEC is also responsible for grading candidates depending on their general performance. The grading system is influenced by individual subjects whereby every subject is graded differently.
Some subjects are deemed more difficult than others. For instance science subjects are difficult compared their humanity counterparts.
However, when it comes to national exams and its grading system sometimes it surprises many including students themselves.
Some subjects can be graded highly and others moderately. This depends solely on the performance of students countrywide.
Today the KNEC has released a statement warning everyone involved about a fake Knec grading system doing rounds on social media purported to be from the Council.
The Council has denied the grading system and requested everyone to treat with the contempt it deserves.
So the Council has not released the Knec grading system hence teachers and students should wait for an officially communicated grading system after the release of the examination results.
Whence be warned about spreading the rumour since it increases the anxiety of those waiting for the results.
