TSC is one of the independent commissions provided for under Chapter Fifteen of the Kenyan Constitution. Teachers Service Commission was basically formed to give teachers one employer and uniform terms and conditions of service. It is charged with the mandate of registering, employing, promoting, disciplining and paying teachers.
According to the latest report, the teachers service commssion tsc, is planning to hire thirty thousand teachers in January 2023. This is as per the government’s spokesman, Hussein Mohammed, who issued a statement , stating that the government will employ 30,000 teachers by January 2023.This will help to address the problem of a shortage of teachers in both primary and secondary schools.The recruitment will take place before schools open on January 23, 2023.
The part of the report indicates that majority of the teachers who will be hired will fill the space that will be left in primary schools by upgrading teachers who were sent to secondary schools. Some group of the unemployed teachers will stand to gain handsomely, in the upcoming recruitment. The group of the teachers who will gain handsomely include,
1.The teachers on internship contracts
2.The primary school teachers who undertook CBC upgrading
3.PTE teachers who are upgrading in various TTCs will also have an edge during the impending TSC mass recruitment.
