His efforts had finally born fruits whereby he overcame all the odds of studying in a day school to get an enviable grade of A- which was a huge improvement from 278 marks he got in class eight.
Speaking to NTV on Friday morning, Kamau mentioned some of the challenges of studying in a day school which include slow syllabus coverage and family challenges such as domestic violence which a day schooler has to bear with.
"Sometimes I could meet my colleagues from other schools who would narrate to me how they are ahead of the syllabus", said Kamau.
He Added “Being in a day school, one is subjected to a lot of challenges. If there is domestic violence, you will witness it”.
Kamau however didn't let the challenges hinder him from achieving what he wanted in life.
He said with self motivation, he continued studying hard and most times remaining behind when others have left to continue with his studies.
His advise to candidates is that they should be self motivated inorder for them to achieve better grades.
"When you are self-motivated, it's so easy to achieve anything. I encourage students to do the same, and also pray to God for guidance" said Kamau.
