Nominated MP Gideon Keter today surprised his primary teacher with a healthy Frisian heifer, in an alumni-organized event, Olenguruone DEB former students visited Mr.Koech at his Kuresoi South home. A pair of suits, pair of shoes, new beddings among other goodies for himself and his wife are among the gifts the former headteacher bagged today.
Keter lauded his exemplary service in the school for year's saying it molded him to be who he is now. His political career and educational career's success he gave all the credit to him.
"Teachers play an important role in shaping our future while in school. A sage once said, “Train up a child in the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not depart from it”. My school teachers molded me into who I am today and I owe my success to them. A huge appreciation to all of them! ," Keter said.
Koech dumfounded by the gesture couldn't hide his tears, he heaped praises on the MP and his friends for such a unique gesture. He termed it unusual and a blessing. He boasted of leaders and career men and women going through his hands.
"This is not a usual occurrence, this heifer I will be using its milk every day and in each day I will remember the good gesture of the young boys and girls I whipped mercilessly year's ago. It melts my heart to see them successful and leading the country. I pray for them to continue being a blessing to this country," Koech said.
Keter was nominated to represent the youth in 2017 and has risen politically, he's more heard in his home constituency than the area MP and 2022 rival Joseph Tonui. He's eying to unseat him come 2022. After his primary school education at DEB, Keter joined the secondary school and later the University of Nairobi. He became the president of the youth senate in 2013 a foundation formed to help the youth be part of governance issues.
