CS Magoha Gives An Important Update On Schools Allowed To Offer Junior Secondary Learning Under CBC

Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha, has come out to clarify where Competency Based Curriculum teaching and learning will take place when Grade six learners transition to junior secondary school.

In a press statement, Prof. Magoha said that learning will take place in both boarding and day secondary schools across the country.

Further, Prof. Magoha said that teaching and learning will also take place in some primary schools with adequate facilities to support CBC learning for junior secondary school students.

Consequently, the CS says, the said primary schools will in future be upgraded to have the primary school and secondary school sections to support teaching and learning at the two levels- basic and junior secondary school.

The statem by the CS puts to rest the speculations that have surrounded the junior secondary school learning in the country.

There were speculations that teaching and learning will only be carried out in day secondary schools.
