"We demand immediate resignation" teachers tell the Union leaders

The teachers through their spokesman, Martha Omollo, want the leaders of KUPPET and KNUT to vacate office. According to Martha, the two unions have failed to protect the members .

The teachers accuse, KUPPET and KNUT of signing an agreement with Teachers Service Commission(TSC), against their will. The teachers also complain of the Teacher Professional Development ,TPD, a program they have been forced to enrol into. The program requires teachers to pay ksh 6000 every year for refresher courses. This program which she termed as punitive and is against the will of the teachers.

On October 1, the court rejected the move that was aiming to stop the refresher courses. The court gave a go ahead for the universities to enroll those will do the courses. According to some of the views, the teachers are not against refresher courses but the payments.

Some of the public appreciates the role the Wilson Sossion played. While other want the teachers to embrace the refresher courses and stop calling for help.
