Good News to Teachers after KUPPET Made This One Major Announcement Country Wide on Mental Health

The government has been asked to direct more resources towards the mental health of teachers, particularly in post-primary institutions.

This is following the increased cases of suicide among teachers in Kenya.

This major announcement was passed during a mental wellness awareness event for post-primary teachers at the Kirangari secondary school that is in Kiambu county during which the tutors underwent psychological tests and counseling sessions.

The event was organized by KUPPET on minet insurance Chiroma hospital group and the better care hospital Rehab center.

George kagurani psychologist with better healthcare highlighted that many teachers' suicide cases undergone have gone unreported hence the need for awareness.

"The future of promoting and preventing that's our key focus because teachers cannot be productive if their mental awareness is not stable," she asserted.

"We all have a responsibility as individuals to take care of our mental wellness and as teachers get proper health and can manage their mental wellness they will be able to improve their relationships with the students in the class and outside class," conclude Rose Kiiru KUPPET chairperson.

The government has raised great concerning teachers' mental health and has come up with strategies to curb the problem.
