The Kenya High School Principal Flora Mulatya has been moved from the Teachers Service Commission to the Public Service Commission.
According to new details, she has been promoted and posted to Australia as the education attaché in charge of representing the Government of Kenya.
The promotion and posting takes place effectively and she has already confirmed to the Daily Nation that she is handing over to her Deputy principal.
The Kenya High School is one of the consistent top performing national schools. Mrs Mulatya told the Nation that she handed over to her deputy (administration) Ms Irene Omangi yesterday (Monday) Ms Omangi will be in-charge of the school until the new chief principal Virginia Wahome takes over.
“I’m happy but I’ll miss my girls and the staff. I enjoyed working with the girls and seeing them prosper. Making an impact on their lives was great for me. But a time comes when we have to see the world in a different way and still make an impact through education,” Mrs Mulatya told Nation.
This comes days after she spent her tone with the daughter of His Excellency the Head of State president William Ruto while donating food to Lang'ata primary school students last week.
"I want to sincerely thank the board and management of The Kenya High School for reaching out to me to partner with Lang'ata Primary School to mitigate drought. Today about 400 families will have a meal thanks to them. Today is a joyous day," she said of the cause.
