Senator Cleophas Malala has enjoyed a fast-rising political career. After serving as an MCA for only one term he was overwhelmingly elected as a Senator representing Kakamega county. At the Senate, he is currently serving as the current assistant minority leader deputizing James Orengo and has also chaired several committees. Over the years he has grown to become a fearlessly combative leader who speaks out his mind.

He hails from a humble background as he was born and bred in Kakamega County. For his basic education, he attended Star Academy before proceeding to Friends school Kamusinga where he sat for his KCSE exams. He later joined East African School of Media for a Diploma in TV and Film Production. He is also an alumnus of United States International University(USIU) for his Bachelors. Currently he is pursuing a Masters at the same university.

Apart from being a politician, he is a loving husband to Carolyn Ayietsa and a father to two adorable sons. His son made headlines in 2019 after scoring highly in his KCPE exams (409 Marks).
