"I Fully Support The New Measures But...." Kipchumba Murkomen On Uhuru's Measures About LockDown

The Elgeyo Marakwet Senator, Kipchumba Murkomen has felt an equal pinch with a section of Kenyans after President Uhuru's new measures on how to contain Corona Virus in the country.

"My friend and neighbor in Embobut are getting married in Kajiado tomorrow. We organized for her Mum and a few relatives to come to the wedding. I sent my driver to pick them from Eldoret this morning. Upon reaching Kinungi, they received the lockdown news. We had to make a practical decision for the Mum to proceed to Kajiado for the wedding while the rest of the team boarded a 2NK Matatu at Kinungi flyover back to Eldoret. The Mum will be part of the 15 persons allowed via the regulations to attend the wedding after which we don’t know when she will be able to go back home. Now, how many Kenyans especially students are going through the same dilemma? While I fully support the new measures, the implementation should consider the various dynamics affecting Kenyans." Senator Murkomen

The Senators post attracted different reactions from Kenyans;

"While we applaud his Excellency for the measures he had been taking to contain this pandemic since it set foot on this country we must also say some measures are so rough and punitive especially during this hard economic times where Kenyans are struggling to put at least one meal on the table per day. The president should have considered have given enough time for people to align themselves with the new order more so those from the restricted counties. And a very serious question arises in other countries after lockdown people are tested for covid19 and immunized what is the government planning to do during a lockdown or they are just looking to please the international lenders so that they get more money to loot. Nimeenda," Simeon Ciira

"Wondering how college students will travel to machining after closing all learning institutions with immediate effect. Who is seriously advising your Jubilee party leader?" Omega Duke

"Poor leadership, instead they have organized vaccination for college and University students and learning continues, students from karatina will pass through where? Nairobi locked, Nakuru locked." Mercy Jelule Jelule
