He was elected as the Chair of the Kenya Law society at the University of Nairobi when he was studying law.
2. Mombasa Senator, Hassan Omar
He was a student leader at Moi University Eldoret.
3.National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi.
He served as a student leader in University of Nairobi during the Moi regime.
4.Embakasi East Member of Parliament, Babu Owino
The Embakasi East MP was the longest serving student leader at the University of Nairobi when he was elected by SONU as chair in 2011.
5.Homabay Women rep, Gladys Wanga
Honourable Wanga was elected as the secretary General in Kenyatta University. This position was highly competitive. She became the first female to be elected in the position. Her roles were to represent university students at the University senate.
6. Siaya Senator James Orengo
He was the SONU chair from 1972 to 1973. He used the Student organization to fight for human rights.
7.Budalangi Member of parliament Ababu Namwamba
He served as head of the council of Student's union from 1996 to 1997 in the University of Nairobi.
8.Kisumu Governor Professor Anyang' Nyong'o
Peter Anyang' Nyong'o was a student leader at the Makerere University.
