The issue of banditry attacks has been common and especially last year, the group terrorized residents in Elgeyo Marakwet and Laikipia leaving several dead. The government was forced to chip in and offer assistance even though it reached a point where the bandits overpowered them and instead the cases started increasing.
More police officers were deployed and the situation calmed down a little bit. It was reported that parents were afraid of allowing their children to go to school with fear that they may be attacked and killed by bandits. This year however, many have allowed their children to go to school. Today, a sad incident has been reported in St. Benedict Arror Girls High School In Elgeyo Marakwet and they have currently taken over the school.
Students have been forced to lie down since there are a lot of flying bullets in the air. Students and teachers are currently in panic mode with fear that they maybe killed. We hope that police officers will come through and save the teachers and students in the school because the situation is worrying.
