Kakamega High School To Resume Learning As Parents Are Expected To Pay Huge Amount Of Money

Kakamega high school was closed down indefinitely after the students burned down one of the modern dometories in the institution,an incident which caused a very big loss to the giant school. After a meeting that was held by the school Board of Management,the school is stated to have faced a loss totalling to 21.6 million shilings.

The school management now demands every student to report back with sh.9823 to cater for the loss. Acording to a letter that was written by the school Board of Management secretary Mr. Gerald Irina,form four students are expected to report back to school on 15th while for one,two and three will resume on 21st,23rd and 26th November respectively.

On his letter,Mr. Irina stated that the dormitory that was destroyed cost sh.12,185,540. On the other hand,the cost of CCTV instillation that was brought down by the fire is said to be at sh.695,420 while that of replacing the beds is sh.4,194,400.

Mr. Irina further stated that the total cost for items of the 560 students that were affected stands at sh.4,536,000,and the amount should be paid by all the students on the reporting date. However,the school promised to donate a matress,two blankets and two bedsheets for every studen that was affected.
