More than 700 Students at Tonga Omonuri Mixed Primary School in Nyamira County have been sent home after the school was closed following a dormitory fire on Sunday night.
St James Kegonge Secondary school in Embu closed indefinitely, all students sent home following unrest that saw a dormitory set on fire.
Prefects and teachers on duty will now be held accountable for fires reported in schools, Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha has said.
