6 days after COVID-19 cutting short his life, Dr. Ken Ouko who who served as a sociology lecturer at the University of Nairobi for two decades was laid to rest today on August 7th.

In an event conducted at his rural home of Nyandiwa village near Oyugis town of Homa Bay County, the renown lecturer was buried today morning under strict COVID-19 adherence procedures to keep everyone safe.

He had succumbed to COVID-19 in the morning of August 1st while receiving care at the Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi.

Having been popular among those who passed through his hands and those he had worked with at the University of Nairobi, Dr. Ken was mourned by many upon passing away and praised for his humourously witty way of disseminating information to learners.

He was even eulogized by the Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha who once served as the University of Nairobi Vice Chancellor as having been quite sympathetic as well as wise in getting students to logically reason in every situation.

In preparation for his final sendoff, Dr. Ouko's funeral service was held on the Wednesday of August 5th at the Nairobi Central SDA Church at 2PM prior to the transportation of his body to the rural home for burial.

The funeral service was attended by a few family members and friends only due to COVID-19 rules in Kenya.
