Girl Who Performed Exemplary in KCPE By Scoring Over 400 Marks Herding Goats Due to Lack of Fees

Faith Kasungwa is yet to join form one despite scoring 408 marks in 2021 KCPE examination due to lack of school fees. Faith Kasungwa comes from Kilonzo village in Nzambani, Kitui East and she sat for her KCPE examination at Nzambani primary school where she emerged at the top of her class that had 50 students.

Unfortunately, the parents of the 16-year-old girl can not raise school fees for her form one. She is currently at home where she is currently taking care of her father's goats. He told the Standard Digital that she has been forced to remain at home despite scoring good marks in KCPE.

She got an admission letter to join Muthale girls national school in Kitui but she has not reported due to lack of fees. She claims that she can't imagine that those that she beat in class have already joined yet she is still at home.

Her parents are not working and her mother who was the sole breadwinner left her work ad a house help. Ms Kasungwa has remained optimistic saying that she will join when her times comes. Her father Maundu Mwanza says that he can only afford to feed his family.

A calling letter seen by sources indicates that Kasungwa is supposed to pay Ksh.45,000 for fees and additional ksh.20,000 for shopping. Their firstborn is currently working as a house help while the second born did her KCSE and scored a C plain. Kasungwa is now pleading for any well-wishers who might help her to continue with her studies.
