Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (Kuppet) has threatened to withdraw teachers from the troubled Laikipia County. The giant union says that they are worried with the slow response of security agencies in containing the bandit attacks in the region.
According to KTN news, Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers want government to guarantee the security of tutors in the region failure of which it will withdraw all teachers serving in the areas affected by the bandit attacks.
The move happens barely hours after re-opening of Olmoran primary schools and Olmoran secondary school which were closed last week following bandit attack that saw house torched and resident flee the area due to insecurity. Yesterday interior cabinet secretary Dr Fred Matiangi assured students and teachers of their security when schools reopen.
If Kuppet go ahead and withdraw teachers from troubled Laikipia County then it will be a big blow to parents and students in the county.
