Mombasa businessman cum politician Suleiman Sahbal has enrolled his 11 year daughter identified as Samira to a beekeeping course.
Sahbal has today taken to Facebook, revealing that he was surprised when the daughter asked for ksh 6500 to register the course. He accorded her the funds and she enrolled at the National Beekeeping Institute.
Days later, the daughter sent photos of her classmates which not only impressed him but shocked him when he realized most of her classmates were adults, some even his age mate.
"The following day she sends me photos of her classmates only to learn that she was the only child in class . Her classmates were old people, I think some are even my age. I was impressed by her courage despite not knowing where her interest came from. For her, she has seen an opportunity to start a beehive and make some money soon," Sahbal disclosed on Facebook.
Now the tycoon remains optimistic that the daughter can take up the venture seriously. One beehive is capable of producing 5-7 kg of honey and thereby making at least ksh 4000.
The matter has impressed Kenyans given the daughter's young age as many encouraged her entrepreneurial mindset.
"It is called Power of Passion. Let her pursue her dream. The world is changes by those who chase their dreams and live a fulfilling," commented Albert Kochei.
Another one, Joan Nyapola commented: "Wow that's beautiful... She knows wat she wants already despite her age...just encourage and support her."
