Wafula Chebukati Speaks On Sakaja Degree Woes, Gives Way Forward

The Commission for University Education CUE headed by professor Chacha Nyaigoti Chacha once again yesterday revoked the degree from Team University in Uganda held by aspiring Nairobi city county governor Johnson Sakaja. However, according to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission disputes tribunal which the matter was presented to seeking to bar Sakaja from vying, the did not have jurisdiction to handle authenticity of degrees.

It is in the light of this that the IEBC chairman wafula Chebukati has broken his silence on that matter. Chebukati has dismissed the CUE later that revoked Sakaja's degree saying the matter was comprehensively dealt with by the disputes tribunal and that their decision was final.

Earlier on, there was a controversy when Sakaja claimed that he did not complete his Actuarial science degree at the University of Nairobi due to lack of school fees. He had however managed to obtain court orders barring IEBC from stopping the printing of ballot papers in order to expunge his name.
