Governor Kiraitu said members of Meru community who are acquiring high qualifications such as PhD are readying themselves for service of not only Meru County but the nation and beyond, thus avoiding the pressure and competition in the regular job market especially at the County level.
“As a PhD holder, Dr. Muguna does not need lobbying for promotions here at the County but he could now become anything including an ambassador or be appointed to any other capacity to serve the country and beyond,” he noted.
He spoke when he, accompanied by Deputy Governor Titus Ntuchiu, County Second Lady Madam Lucy Ntuchiu and other leaders, attended thanksgiving ceremony for Meru Municipal Manager Dr. Silas Mbaabu Muguna who has been conferred with a PhD in Education Leadership and Management, at his home in Kigumone, Abothuguchi West, Central Imenti.
Speaking at the function, DG Ntuchiu congratulated Dr. Muguna for the achievement, noting he has earned the highest qualification in education despite being busy with the challenging work of the management of Meru Municipality.
The DG said the fact that as of yesterday, three members of Governor Kiraitu’s regime, County Assembly Speaker Joseph Keberia Arimba, CEC member for Health Misheck Mutuma Muyuri and Silas Mbaabu Muguna have all acquired their PhDs, is testament that the Governor is supporting individual development of people in his government as opposed to the past regime.
The function was also attended by politician Praise Edwin Kiongozi who called on Meru residents to embrace and promote the newly unveiled ‘Mbus’ Party by Governor Kiraitu, terming him as a visionary leader who knows the people of Meru and Mt. Kenya East need their own political vehicle that will champion their interests in the coming dispensation in 2022.
