The idea of depending on animals as a source of wealth amongst the Turkana community has been a challenge to the education sector in Turkana county for many years.
Most parents have opted to put up their daughters for marriage purposes at very tender age with an aim of getting dowery without valuing the school.Kang'itesiroi was not an exception, as the school within it operated four years of construction without a girl pupil which brought attention of different sectors.
Parents were informed on the importance of educating girl child and they started realizing their daughters to school. What made them happy was how most of there daughters started knowing how to write and read, and today a teacher has re-trended 47 girls to school whom were to get marriage and returned them to school.
Parents were then encouraged to release their daughters to attend school than forcing them to marriage.
