The Government is in a rush to change the curriculum without any delay. The double transition that is expected in 2023 is an uphill task to the Government in case no sufficient preparations are put in place. The current grade five learners will be in Junior secondary schools by 2023.At the same time, the current std six learners will also be in form one.
President Kenyatta is determined to leave a legacy next year when he goes to retire. He has seen that Odinga is likely to continue with his legacy.2023 needs a lot of infrastructures in schools to accommodate all the students who will join form one.President had issued directives to the relevant authorities to ensure enough infrastructures before the students join the schools.
It is good news to teachers and students who have been crying of congestion in schools as president's directives continue getting implemented ahead of CBC roll out in secondary schools.Education CS Professor George Magoha was in Ol Kalou Primary and Nyandarua High School to assess these new facilities. This is a great relief to teachers especially the head teachers who have been stranded in creating spaces for students. With President's determination, the teachers and students should not be worried as MoE is out to ensure facilities are available.
